Sleaford is a market town in Lincolnshire, England. During the Roman period it was probably a small farmstead centred on a Roman road running along the fen edge. During 8th Century, Anglo-Saxon England "Eslaforde" was under the control of a man called Bardi.

The earliest surviving remnants of the town date from around 1130, when Sleaford Castle was built. During subsequent centuries the town grew and moved westwards from the site of the castle.

Church of St Botolph 13th Century (or earlier) 16 July 1949[6] Quarrington The earliest known part of the church dates to the 13th century, but was probably built on an earlier existing building. Enlarged and modified over the years, with the most extensive remodelling in 1862.
