About me

Hi, and welcome to my userpage.

I am 48 years old (date of death unknown), a French software engineer from Paris, France. To strengthen a certain cliché, I do enjoy cheese, red wine, baguette and foie gras. With little moderation. Snails and frogs get a pass though... most of the time.

I have been on Wikipedia for 18 years, 25 days (ouch), though not a frenzied editor. I seem to be more of a wikignome, fixing links, participating in the deletion discussions, patrolling recent changes, or fighting vandalism. Some people seem to think of Wikipedia as "the encyclopedia that anyone can vandalize". Every second or so at peak time, no kidding. Squash a vandal like a bug and another takes his place.

I also like to help at the help desk, reference desks or wherever I can be of use. Occasionally, I fetch material from the French Wikipedia for translation.

I am interested in all kind of things, history, architecture, science, particularly astronomy, politics, music, and computer stuff (hey, I'm a software engineer) to name some. An encyclopedia is just the right thing for me.

If you need any help with French material, for translation, finding sources, or whatever, or need to contact me about anything, feel free to drop a message on my talk page

Do you like Art Nouveau ? I like Art Nouveau! This is a picture of the Villa Majorelle in Nancy, an epicentre of the style. The villa was designed by Lucien Weissenburger and Henri Sauvage for Louis Majorelle, who was also an Art Nouveau artist, though he was designing furniture. Nice huh ?

Some Wikipedians have awarded me barnstars, I won't have them rot in a drawer!
