Hi I'm Emily Maine and I'm on a career re-training course to become an English teacher. I have experience in journalism via the community college bulletin, as well as reporting on local news stories, mainly in the entertainment industry. While undertaking this retraining course I was told by the tutors that in their experience, graduates who went on to be most successful as educators were those who dabbled in very specific editing, indexing, and page creation through platforms such as Wikipedia.

So I thought I would try my hand at it. In addition, I am married to a businessman specializing in finance. He -- for a while now -- has been interested in knowing more about the Wiki world since many of his co-workers have an online presence. So between the two of us this is my catalyst for Wikipedia editing and page creation.

I aim to start my Wiki career by working on articles written by other Wikipedians that need a) copy editing b) extra links c) additional data.
