el_bes edit

El señor Bes comes from Upper Austria, is interested in history, politics, linguistics, romance languages, Latin America and Eastern Europe. After years of Wikipedia "consumption", I'd like to participate as well and give information where gaps exist or topics are missing so far.

Bavarian edit

Hence my first language is Bavarian, in its southern Upper Austrian central-bavarian variant, I am especially interested in anything that links to this topic, from modern literature to language history, language politics, minority language issues and of course the difficult and sometimes confusing diglossic situation with Standard German, Austrian Standard German, German German, etc.

Any minority language speaker tends to defend his language a little bit, so please don't blame me for taking a pro-bavarian point of view in some article discussions. But I am really interested in keeping the discussion on a scientific level and I would never put some personal point of view, that is not supported by scholars with good reputation, in any article. If I unintentionally exagerate something at any time, please let me know (on my talk page or at the respective article's talk page).

Wikipedia auf Boarisch edit

Most of the time, I write for the Wikipedia in Bavarian, and I am only at the English version to collect information or to translate articles for the bavarian Wikipedia. Most likely, my changes here will only be adding interwiki links.

More about me and the articles I write, you see here: http://bar.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:El_bes
