I am the Maryland State Archivist (http://mdsa.net)and am working with my staff, friends, and my students to create and improve articles in Wikipedia that pertain to Maryland. We realize that these efforts need the editorial watchful eye that most Wikipedia editors conscientiously apply to articles. Everyone needs a good editor. We only ask that it be done with civility and careful fact checking, as we try to be as accurate in our facts as we can be. In some instances, because of copyright related issues, references to the Maryland State Archives web site (http://mdsa.net) may require a user name and password. We provide that without cost on request from ref@mdsa.net, transferring the responsibility for private, non-profit, educational use to the user.
