I am a proud Ukrainian Catholic by baptism, but have mostly attended mass in the Latin Rite. My wife is an Adjunct Professor at Notre Dame. She is a "recovering Episcopalian" and is beginning the process of becoming a Catholic (Easter 2008?). +

We met at Truro Church in Fairfax, Virginia and both attended that wonderful place for several years. It's a long story but we loved that community more than any other. To any of our friends back there in Virginia, we miss Truro. We were saddened by the recent split but could not see any good way for the parish to go. In our opinion they have jumped from the instability of TEC (ECUSA) to the hopeless ambiguity of Anglicanism. They would be better off starting their own denomination because nothing is a good fit for them. Sorry for the rambling, its just on my mind a lot. We have chosen to do our best to observe the Ukrainian Rite when and where possible. We love it for its liturgical beauty, doctrinal security and its legitimate authority within the family of the Catholic Church (by the way Ukrainians are Catholics under the Pope, but not "Roman" Catholics).
