My Russian Side also known as 'My Russian side : in my own words - me tracking down my birth parents then meeting them in Russia for the first time in my life' in some publications [3] is a 2014 Book by New Zealander Alex Gilbert. Alex was adopted from Russia and brought to New Zealand when he was 2 years old. This book covers the search to meeting them in Russia for the first time in November 2013.
His story was covered on New Zealand Television in February 2014. This book reached NZ Libraries all across the country including one NZ Museum Library to which Alex personally signed the book for.[4][5]The book was also translated into Russian but under the name 'Моя Русская семья' which is titled 'My Russian Family' in English.[6] In December 2014 the book became available in a library in Australia along with the Vancouver Public Library in Canada.[7][8]
