Dennis Kyallo Wambua is a Kenyan lawyer. He was born in Machakos County, one of the 47 devolution units of Kenya located in the former Eastern Province. He also the second-born in a family of four, two boys and two girls. He is of the Christian faith but does not discriminate against those that share different ideas and faiths. He is a liberal and progressive thinker too.

Early Life

He was born on 22nd November, 1993 to Mr. Timothy Wambua and Mrs. Josephine Wambua. The father to Dennis hails from Machakos County while the mother was born in Makueni County within the semiarid region of Ukambani in Kenya.

Primary School Education

Dennis attended Nzaikoni Primary School, a public mixed day primary school located in Iveti Hills in Kathiani Sub-County in Machakos County. He studied there between the years 2000 and 2007 and upon conclusion of that elementary study, was awarded the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education. He was a bright child was ordinarily placed between positions one and three.

He was also a charming child and associated very well with students, teachers and members of the community. Those who have interacted with him before find him easy to interact with.

Post-Primary Education

Dennis Kyallo Wambua attended high school education in Muvuti High School, Machakos County between 2008 and 2011.The school is located within the Machakos Town Constituency and was at the time a mixed boarding school. The school is currently a boys's school. Upon completing the 4-year course, Dennis was awarded the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education by the country's national examining body, the Kenya National Examinations Council.

University Education

Following the release of the results by KNEC in February, 2012, Dennis started preparations to join university later in the year. At the time results were being released, Dennis was undertaking some course which included computer classes and training in playing the piano as is common practice in Kenya for students who have just left high school. The choice of studying the piano was drawn from the immense love that Dennis has for music.

In September, 2012, he joined Kabarak University Law School to pursue a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), in a bid to make his life dream of becoming a lawyer a reality. This dream became a reality with his graduation in December, 2015 with a Bachelor of Laws degree (Second Class-Upper Division). Dennis had always been a very hardworking young man, a trait that was motivated by his humble background.

During his study at the university, Dennis encountered financial challenges and especially with payment of school fees. To ensure he cleared his education, several persons kicked in to offer assistance.

Dennis was also part of the Kabarak University Chapel Choir were he served as a tenor singer from the first Sunday in school to his graduation day (literally)!

Immediate Life After University

Not having finances to further his education, Dennis took a break from academics and joined the law firm of Mukite Musangi & Company Advocates, a mid-level law firm based in Nakuru town in an effort to save money to join the Kenya School of Law, the only Bar school in Kenya, for further training to become an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a dream he had vowed to achieve.

Due to the level of remuneration, the dream of ever joining the only Bar school in Kenya seemed to take a south turn. The saving he was making were not enough to guarantee him a place in the school and to secure his future as a legal practitioner.

Dennis would later leave Nakuru in search of greener pastures. The journey landed him in Nairobi, the Capital city of Kenya, where he met people who later helped him raise the requisite fees to join Kenya School of Law. He remains eternally grateful to individuals he would rather not mention on this platform.

In Nairobi, Dennis worked as an intern and a legal researcher at the firm of Kioko, Munyithya, Ngugi & Co., Advocates. He was place at its Nairobi's branch and it was a great learning experience for him as he literally performed a majority of the tasks in the branch office.

My Stint at the Kenya School of Law A lot had been said about the Bar school. Dennis was told of how much the failure rate was at the Kenya School of Law and how the Council of Legal Education, the examining body for the Bar Examinations would allegedly fail candidates for financial gain. This was and continues to be a huge debate within the legal education circles. That would not deter Dennis.

Dennis joined the KSL on 2nd February, 2017 and cleared on 1st December, 2017. When results were released on 30th January, 2018 by the CLE, Dennis had passed all his papers and was already undertaking pupillage at Kioko, Munyithya, Ngugi & Co., Advocates, an opportunity he always happy to have had.

Leadership

Throughout his journey of life and schooling, Dennis Kyallo has demonstrated leadership.

Dennis was a prefect in literally all his pre-primary and primary school life.

At the High School level, he actively participated in the leadership activities of the Kenya Wildlife Club as a Class Representative to the Club's governing body in Muvuti High School.

When Dennis Kyallo joined Kabarak University, he served as the Director of the Legal Awareness Department of the Kabarak University Law Students Association (KULSA) and served in that role with diligence and with the realization that it was an honour to serve other students! Under his tenure, he oversaw various projects which varied from prison visits, visits to the nearby communities, etc.

At the Kenya School of Law, Dennis served as the Class President and Representative of the 2017 Class H. He was also honoured to sit in the Council of Class Representatives in the capacity of a Member.

At the moment, Dennis Kyallo is serving pupillage at Kioko, Munyithya, Ngugi & Company Advocates in Nairobi and awaiting admission to the Bar, hopefully before the end of the year, 2018.
