First off, I know you're thinking, who is Demosthenes and how do I pronounce it? Fortunately, you're already on Wikipedia, so answers are only a click away. Demosthenes is an ancient Greek orator. There is a story told about him that he learned to speak with pebbles in his mouth to overcome a speech impediment - to my knowledge, this isn't true, but it makes for a good story!

Demosthenes is also a pseudonym used by Valentine Wiggin in Orson Scott Card's excellent book, Ender's Game. Posing as Demosthenes, Valentine and her brother Peter (under the pseudonym Locke), the two alter the events of world history.

I suppose you could say I have a lot to live up to. The X came into play because the first place I tried to register 'Demosthenes' was taken. Hence the X. There are a couple other Demosthenes Xs out there, but you'll usually recognize me by my standard signature:

Without going into too much detail, I can tell you that I am a student of Queen's University, and when not in class I live in Victoria, British Columbia.
