I'd appreciate it if you would chime in with your opinion about Talk:A Beautiful Mind#Spoilers, the first comment is not particularly relevant to the discussion I'm trying to have. The user removed a spoiler warning from the Production section because the plot twist inside the film (which is half-way through the film, if not farther), is inspired by a true story. Thus is not fictional and should not have a spoiler warning. My belief is that the article's subject is a film. If we were writing an article on Nash, than it would not be a spoiler. If we were writing an article on the book, it would not be a spoiler. But this is the film, in which the context of events are spoilers. The Filmaker 14:15, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

OoT: FA Push

edit

Just wanted to let you know, me and a few other editors have joined your OoT FA Push. I have made several redirects to the article, as well as placed several references in the story section and lessened the Weasel word/Peacock words in the article. It may take a while, but I have a feeling we can pull this article together and make it featured. LOZ: OOT 02:25, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a deletion review of NYU in popular culture. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. -- Noetic Sage 13:38, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Batman

edit

Hey, I've seen you around a couple of places (particularly FAC) and I appreciate your work on articles related to fiction. I work mainly on music articles, but I've been working on and off on Batman ever since its FAR over a year ago. Here's a version from last December for comparison: [1]. I've been doing alright with sourcing and restructuring, but I would appreciate another set of eyes to take a look at the prose, which no one aside from me really deals with on the article. Aside from a planned reworking of the "Skills, abilities, and resources" section that pretty much all that's left to work on. If you could provide a copyedit to the article that would be much appreciated, and if you have any thoughts or questions about the article feel free to leave them on my talk page. Thanks. Adminship

edit

I'd like to run the idea of nominating S@bre for adminship. His amazingly efficiently restructuring of the StarCraft articles and other pages cannot be denied. I was wondering if you think this is a good idea, and how I would go about such a nomination. But I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter before I do so. The Clawed One 22:44, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks but nevermind, Sabre has explained he doesn't want adminship at this point. The Clawed One 21:16, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Noticed you playing around with my little scratch-write (basically for the moment I'm ignoring what is in the current article, and I have a few queries.

  • Your edit summareis imply that similar articles have been rewritten, or are in the process... can you indicate some of these for me to use as a leg-up?
  • Can you recommend any good resources? I've got a lot of the novels, and library access to Sculpting a Galaxy, The Making of Star Wars (the OT), and the first WEG Star Wars Sourcebook in the pipeline. Would any other texts-websites be of use?

Thanks in adavance. -- saberwyn 23:02, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Venom-smasher

edit

User:Venom-smasher may be back as User:Movieguy999, I'd appreciate it if you'd check for sockpuppetting as soon as possible and to also help me with the said users edits. The Filmaker 17:05, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry if I've been coming off as bothersome lately. I realize that you are in college (I am about to go off as well) and so you don't have nearly as much time as you used to. However, for obvious reasons, if you use CheckUser on this editor as soon as possible, I'd be extremely grateful. I'm asking you because you are very familiar with the situation and would save me a load of paperwork when applying the case to the "Suspected sockpuppets" page. If you'd prefer I do that instead, I will. But I was hoping, could you help me out here? The Filmaker 18:24, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't believe he was ever blocked (beyond the 3RR block for him and me), however you did warn him for editing against consensus and said that if he did so again then he would be blocked.[2] Could this not be taken as block evasion? Also, isn't sock puppetry simply grounds for a block? The Filmaker 18:41, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
So he's back again, it seems. You never gave me an answer before, but also his edits are too similar to the previous user's edits to not consider the possibility. He's pushing for the exact same changes in the exact same way. I'm just not really seeing what the difficulty is here in why we can't use CheckUser. The Filmaker 20:27, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Talk:Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace please help. Please. Please, please, please, please, please. I'm a freshmen in college, you have to understand, I can't deal with it as well as I used to be able to. Please. Please, please, please, please, please. The Filmaker 02:13, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

You've seen some really, Really stupid edit wars in your day. Tifa's ample breasts? LOZ: OOT 18:29, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Good point. But even so, Tifa's ample breasts? Didn't anybody (besides you) realize that talking about her breasts in an online encyclopedia is just stupid? More than unencyclopedic, just plain stupid (even though I agree, heh heh). LOZ: OOT 20:36, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
You're probably among the most respectable editors in the entire video games Wikiproject. Not just because of your many contributions and adminship, but also because, quite frankly, you actually have common sense. LOZ: OOT 20:42, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Edit conflict?

edit

I note you used the edit summary "restoring my comment". Did I mess something up there? I'm pretty sure there was nothing above when I left that last comment, unless I was editing from a previous diff or something, which come to think of it, is quite likely. Sorry about that! Cheers, Miremare 15:50, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Creating a nice userpage

edit

How'd you go about creating your userpage? I've been looking around at the various ones around Wikipedia, and I want to have a snazzy one myself. However, I've not got a clue to the coding on the ones I looked at so any pointers to creating the page would be appreciated. -- Sabre 16:45, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

I'd love some tweaks and suggestions, the one I have at the moment is cobbled together from User:Example, with a header idea taken from your page. The two pages I like the most are yours and User:David Fuchs, but the coding behind them simply baffles me. --- Sabre 10:27, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Deckiller. Can you please help me on Final Fantasy articles? That would be very much appreciated. Thanks. 二代目 グレグ ジョーンズ 00:43, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Also, I really need some help on these FF articles, since I haven't edited Wikipedia much because of summer school. Greg Jones II 00:50, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Your enthusiasm is top-notch, but you're preaching to the choir. Just keep editing whenever you're available and that's perfectly fine. — Deckiller 01:25, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Sources for a slightly obscure video game

edit

I plan on trying to get Mischief Makers to FA status when I have a good amount of time to work on it. Seeing as you've worked on a bunch, do you think it is possible from a cursory glance? IGN has a good number of news articles and interviews on it, and there are the other general reviews, but I really cannot find much more than that. Then there are just the in-game quotes for a story section and a possible character section. I can't really tell if that is enough to build anything decent. TTN 00:25, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Notability in fiction

edit

How's the debate going? Are they going to loosen it? Are they still debating?? And will we adopt our own project-specific notability? :) That might be a good idea. Judgesurreal777 21:40, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
