Copyedit request edit

Hi Deck,

Great work on the Final Fantasy articles. Anyway, if you're not too burned out from all of the FAC pushes, might I request a copyedit of Diary of a Camper? (Context: it's about a very short video that established video game engines — Quake, in this case — as a means of real-time CGI filmmaking, otherwise known as machinima.) I know that it's not entirely within your usual range of editing interests, but I figure that the arms-length perspective might help. It's only about 10 KB, but I'm considering submitting it to FAC soon, under the premise that, for a sub-2-minute video that's notable enough to have spawned an entire medium despite a flimsy story, that length is appropriate. Thanks. — TKD::Talk 10:39, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the comment about it appearing to be well-written. Looks like maru got to a copyedit first, which was helpful. Of course, you're still welcome to look it over if you have the time. No pressure, though; you've been pretty busy lately. Barring any showstoppers that come to light, I'll probably submit the article to FAC in 24–48 hours or so. — TKD::Talk 02:50, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Actually... at this point, there's probably no advantage in waiting to set the wheels in motion. Maru's read it over; I've read it over (countless times). With something of this length and simple structure, it should be a fairly straightforward review process... I hope. :) — TKD::Talk 03:07, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Holy Burnout Batman! edit

I noticed your wiki stress level is on run for cover, I hope you're okay.  :( <8 Darthgriz98 02:18, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I just noticed that as well. Take a break, man. Oh, and good work on helping that Padmé Amidala page to FA, and thanks for your help with Final Fantasy VII's success. Ryu Kaze 12:39, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Hey edit

Glad to see you back. By the way, is my browser's cache just stuck, or can you not see your comment on Raul's page except when you look at the edit content? It's not appearing for me for some reason. Ryu Kaze 02:07, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks and Palpatine edit

Thanks for copyediting the Padmé Amidala article. I appreciate your assistance.

Let me know when you're ready for me to copy the Palpatine revision over to the article space. I'm not in a hurry or anything. Things look a little hectic for you right now, and this isn't a move I want to make without back up. Dmoon1 04:20, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

It's done. I'm going to be in class until 4:30 and won't be around to monitor how it's received, though. Dmoon1 17:52, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm not working on any articles at the moment, so I've placed a new peer review request on the Palpatine article (in preparation for FAC in the future). Just keeping you updated. Dmoon1 04:52, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Final Fantasy VII edit

This is exactly why you and I avoided working on that page for so long. Ryu Kaze 17:42, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Wow edit

Have you seen this article? It's currently up for FAC. 101kb and 182 references. I guess this one beats Final Fantasy VII for the references record, huh? Ryu Kaze 20:24, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

After looking at it, it seems like a great article too. I'm supporting it. Ryu Kaze 20:56, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Good point. So Final Fantasy VII remains the king! :D Ryu Kaze 21:02, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Deville's RfA edit

Hello, Deckiller, and thank you for the "solid" support on my recent RfA. The final tally was 72/1/0, and I have now been entrusted with the mop. I'll be tentative with the new buttons for a while, and certainly welcome any and all feedback on how I might be able to use them to help the project. All the best, and thanks again! — Deville (Talk) 02:38, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

GIen's RfA: Thank you! edit

Deckiller for your Support!
I I feel truly humbled & honored by your support in my RfA, which closed at 90 / 5 / 0. Thank you! If you need me for anything, just say the word. For now however, just like Mr Potter here:
My mop & I shall thwart all evil :)
IThank you once again my friend. GIen

PS: YES YOU'RE RIGHT HARRY POTTER USES A BROOM! (BUT GOOD MOPS ARE HARD TO FIND!!)

An FAC edit

In case you've got some time to glance over it, I've got Frank Klepacki sitting in FAC. I blew a tire from working on it seven or eight hours yesterday, so my strategic distance is toast. I'll probably do some kind of hardcopy or reference-less copyediting today, but I'm asking for assistance on a few talk pages just in case. Thanks for considering. --Zeality 15:32, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Re:Link edit

I'm confused as to exactly what's being said here, but I see Kara's name, so I take it that's the important part. I'm just not picking up on it for some reason. Clarification please? Sorry. I must be slow tonight. Ryu Kaze 02:57, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Ahahahaha! XD That's awesome. Wish I'd been the one to say it. Thanks for showing me. Ryu Kaze 03:00, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

FF12 edit

My bad! :) Judgesurreal777 02:47, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Siva edit

Hi there Deckiller. Just wondering if it would be a good idea to get a training program for Siva. There are only a few things that can be easily fixed I think. I think he seems to get unfairly stigmatised too much - a lot of guys never get such a reputation. Blnguyen | rant-line 02:39, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Looks like he is up for it. I reckon skills with images are a good asset, as it is a rare quality. Blnguyen | rant-line 01:17, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

0.5: FF8 and X-2 edit

I think I worry too much about 0.5's coverage of pop-culture topics; I'm just not particularly thrilled with the idea that its coverage is going to be Mario (3), Zelda (3), FF (5), FPSs (3) and 5-7 other articles. Nifboy 16:17, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

(edit):Oh, and as part of my worrying, I asked about some of the things I'm not 100% sure about on the CVG talk page. Nifboy 16:34, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Metal Gear Solid 3 edit

I was going to ask Ryu who he thought could help with copyediting MGS3, but I decided I might as well come straight to your talk page. Any copyedits you can give it would be appreciated (and there's no immediate hurry). Thanks. -- Steel 16:53, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Like I said to Ryu, there's really no hurry. There's still a few things I need to do before the article goes anywhere. Oh, and that was a pretty quick reply for someone on a wikibreak... -- Steel 17:10, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Copyedit edit

I'm just here to let you know that I've finished up the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope article and would like to take you up on your offer to copyedit it. I just need to find an image for the production section and then I'm done. So I'd appreciate it as soon as you get back from your wikibreak. Thanks. :) The Filmaker 23:26, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Alright, I just put the article up for FAC, if you happen to come back in the time that it's up, please feel free to copyedit it. Even if it is getting good reviews. :) The Filmaker 12:34, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Long-Overdue RfA Thanks from Alphachimp edit

Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which was successful with a an overwhelmingly flattering and deeply humbling total of 138/2/2 (putting me #10 on the RfA WP:100). I guess infinite monkey theorem has been officially proven. Chimps really can get somewhere on Wikipedia.

With new buttons come great responsibility, and I'll try my best to live up to your expectations. If you need assistance with something, don't hesitate to swing by my talk page or email me (trust me, I do respond :)). The same goes for any complaints or comments in regard to my administrative actions. Remember, I'm here for you.

(Thanks go to Blnguyen for the incredible photo to the right.) alphaChimp laudare 01:32, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Palpatine edit

Palpatine is now a featured article! Thanks again for your help. Dmoon1 03:00, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

The first day of college seems to be coming pretty late up there (in R.I., I presume). We started back three weeks ago. Anyway, hope everything goes well. In other Star Wars-related news: Jabba the Hutt is scheduled to appear on the Main Page on September 15. Dmoon1 04:28, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

User:GoOdCoNtEnT edit

Hey, I see you blocked User:GoOdCoNtEnT a few weeks back [1] for "rampant vandalism" and sockpuppetry. He seems to have lost his temper again [2] [3], and I see he was warned yesterday by another user [4] about other instances of userpage blanking and vandalism. Pete.Hurd 21:30, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

re: Spoilers edit

While I was ambivalent about spoilers at first, I am beginning to see how they are unprofessional. Academic journals certainly do not contain spoiler warnings, neither do film reviews. My opinion is that if people don't really want to know about a film, book, or character therein they should not be looking at the article. I have removed all spoiler warnings from the articles I have contributed to (those listed on my userpage, anyway). The Palpatine article even went through FAC without a spoiler warning and to my surprise no one even commented about it. Dmoon1 13:44, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Seems I spoke too soon. Marudubshinki has now added the template to Palpatine and Sarlacc. Dmoon1 15:33, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Re:CT edit

Ugh. I can't figure out why someone would think adding things like that improves a page. Especially when it's already FA. Ryu Kaze 13:58, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Jabba the Hutt on the Main Page edit

I know you're still on break, but Jabba the Hutt is going to be on the Main Page tomorrow, September 15. Could you help me patrol this article for vandalism and other forms of mischief when the Main Page is updated? Dmoon1 12:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
