The Spanish Retreat is a british-spanish sitcom which is located in the city of Spain. The series features a gang of young adults to the elderly go through different problems in their lives while trying to live to the fullest.

Miguel Lopez, a student who comes from America and is half Spanish, arrives at a Spanish school called 'Las Pearl' where majority of people speak English purposely, after the death of his father and his missing mother, who was kidnapped a year beforehand, now he lives with Auntie Peri Lopez, who takes care of him. Miguel soon makes a close friend called Valentina Ottor and develops a crush on Carlos Wilde. His auntie is contacted by police at the end of the episode to say someone broke into his old home for unknown reasons as Miguel is taken in for questioning. Rosie is introduced as someone going through mental health problems and takes away to a luxury retreat that student Tia's parents run. She sneaks in regularly as they don't allow lower class people like her in.
2	"Speech Changer"	9th July 2019	5.89
The break-in perpetrator remains anonymous as police are yet to find a suspect. A huge party is taking place for the 17th birthday of popular student Tia Sanchez, who originally is higher class and looks down on the poor and quiet until she meets Miguel. During the party, Valentina gets Miguel to help her find her grandmother's necklace she thinks Tia stole from her a year ago. Miguel accidentally spills a drink on Carlos as they meet once more with Alena Lupin becoming jealous after her breakup with him. An explosive argument bursts out between Tia and Valentina which leads to Tia feeling guilty of her actions. At the end, police contact Miguel to say they know who broke into his former home.
3	"Basketball Tension"	20th July 2019	5.85
Miguel's uncle is arrested as tension is between him and Auntie Peri that he is suspicious something is going on that he doesn't know about. During an assembly, Tia takes the stage and apologies to the whole of the school for everything she has done. Her and Miguel later become close friends after complementing her speech with Valentina deciding to let her guard down on her. Tia helps Miguel become close to Carlos during a basketball tournament in which they kiss and Tia and Valentina become civil; Valentina still keeps her suspicions about Tia to herself. Sergi is blackmailed by Alena Lupin in an attempt to destroy anything between the two. However, Rosie Rodríguez, a quiet and goth student notices the occurrence and the two decide to trick Alena. Miguel visits his uncle in prison with Valentina and he says his Auntie is hiding more from him than he thinks.
4	"Digging up the Past"	4th August 2019	5.99
Miguel searches his Auntie's room to find private and confidential documents and a picture of when he was younger with his parents and with a presumed sibling who he cannot remember but looks similar to him. He looks at the documents before finding out he has a lost sister that his family had kept from him for years. He confronts Aunt Peri after taking pictures for evidence as she explains she didn't want him to find out that she died after their mother had accidentally dropped her from a cliff while taking a photo with them all together. She reveals that it was the reason his father went onto becoming an addict before dying along with his mother's kidnapping. Elsewhere, Valentina and Tia come up with a plan to help Sergi and Rosie expose Alena and her secrets of dating at the summer ball after her plot. At the end, Miguel's uncle is released by bail by anonymous person before the two are seen digging up a grave to retrieve a baby glove and a note (unknown to viewers what it says) that explains he is taking care of her daughter, Penelope Lopez, who is in disguise and brainwashed to be Gina Montana, his uncle 's friend's niece.
5	"Dating is a B****"	15th August 2019	5.98
A group of people in Tia's year, particularly friends, are disappointed by her actions and turn on her to bully and torment her. Miguel reveals the truth to the gang that he had a secret sister who "died" as Valentina and the others tell Miguel of Alena's presence and that they plan to expose her in upcoming weeks of her jealousy for many exes and her toxicity and manipulation to show she isn't the girl everyone thinks she is. Carlos then comes in with his mates and catches Miguel for a talk to see where they are, they agree to start dating and Carlos wants to take him to the summer ball. Sergi and Rosie plan their plot whilst studying at his house before they play a truth or dare game which both have to fit a banana in their mouths which leads to them hooking up. Auntie Peri and Uncle John have an argument as Peri starts to finally realize Gina Montana is Penelope Lopez and that he kidnapped her and took her to France to take care of her before coming back from what John said was "a big death in the family" and that he got "Gina" to come back with him and take care of. Miguel and Valentina head to his home as "Gina" becomes present to help back up Peri's point. John then decides to pull a knife out just as Miguel and Valentina walk into the danger...
6	"Karma wants Answers"	22nd August 2019	6.14
As Uncle John is in a mental health crisis, he threatens to kill them if they don't leave him alone. Auntie Peri calmly calls the police but John snatches her phone while on hold as she screams for help. Gina is extremely confused and worried as Auntie Peri spills the whole answers that "Gina" and Miguel deserve. Meanwhile, Tia gets to the retreat and skips school to calm down as she takes drugs from one of her ex friends that gave her a stash to cope with the trauma of her cousin's death two years ago. Her mother catches her out and her father yells at her before she runs away back to school; apologising to her old friends and making up with them to erase her problems. Police rush to the home of the ordeal taking place as Sergi, Carlos and Rosie notice Miguel and Valentina's absence while they see Tia going back to her old ways as they plan to go the mall for the summer ball. "Gina" is told by Peri she is Penelope Lopez as she hugs Miguel yet is furious at her so called uncle. A mysterious face then arrives to side with Uncle John at the home, his wife, Tamara. Peri discovers she has been cheated on and lashes out at him. She, John and Tamara start arguing about the entire events that have happened before John has enough and stabs himself in the chest, dying just as police arrive.
7	"A Fresher Feeling"	1st September 2019	6.78
John's funeral has taken place as Tamara is arrested for assisted kidnapping of their niece. Auntie Peri recovers from what's happened as she gets a dog called Siara the Poodle and heads to the luxury retreat where she meets Tia's parents where they go on about Tia being caught with drugs as Peri tells Miguel this in a text whilst in school. Rosie asks Sergi if he wants to go to the ball with him, feared of being rejected by her long-time former crush. However unlike the last, Sergi accepts as Alena overhears them talking about her but she doesn't know what. Carlos comforts Miguel after the ordeal as things start to get steamy between them. Later, Miguel tells Valentina about what is happening with Tia and Valentina later goes to fight her after betraying their trust. It is recorded and travels everywhere around the school before she runs off as her friends curse at Valentina before she comebacks them and exposes their toxic motives. Miguel and Tia talk about her issues that she has gone through and admits she has a little crush on him but is a little heartbroken inside when he says he has a boyfriend. Miguel reveals what he has been through before he asks if she is going to the summer ball in which he encourages Tia to make a speech and gain control and confidence of herself while making things clear to the whole school. As everyone prepares for the ball, Alena is keen to find out Rosie's antics.
8	"The Summer Ball"	5th September 2019	7.87
The day of the summer ball arrives as Tia prepares to make her speech while everyone votes for a prom kings of queens of their choice. Before the ball, Tia apologies to her parents about the drugs and makes it clear it won't happen again. Many people vote for Sergi and Rosie before the votes are swapped by Alena for her and a hired boyfriend called Ant to win instead and humiliate the pair. Principal Pearl makes a toast before the ball starts. Everyone dances with their partners or chills with their friends as Tia tells her popular friends she is making a speech before becoming nervous they won't like it. Miguel and Penelope spend time with eachother and get to know eachother a lot more due to being separated siblings while Carlos hangs with Valentina and chats about what else Miguel is like. The votes are counted as Alena and Ant come to the stage before people boo at them and say it's been staged. Alena humiliates Rosie and Sergi before they expose her and shut her up. Ant runs away as her friends turn on her before Alena runs off crying. Tia then makes her speech before gaining everyone's support and turning herself around and telling Miguel she can move on from the death of her cousin. Tia and Valentina clear the air and Tia tells Miguel she is going for a breath of fresh air as he asks if he can come but she says she wants to be alone. Standing outside she sees Alena upset as she decides to comfort her and tell her she can change like she did. Alena feels embarrassed by Tia's "judgement" of her before triggering her major mental health breakdown as she runs away. Ant runs to shout for her but she runs off too far. Ant is furious with Tia before he jumps to accusations and pushes her off a balcony, hitting her head on a rock and falling to the ground. Miguel comes outside to see if Tia is okay when he sees Ant looking horrified. He goes over and asks of everything is okay when he sees Tia on the bottom ground lifeless. Miguel punches him as he rushes to Tia. Just before Tia dies, she thanks Miguel for helping her turn her life around. Ant is soon arrested after stealing a car and going at high speed. Everyone mourns Tia. One month later, the gang visit her memorial and the luxury retreat is sold to Miguel's Auntie Peri. Carlos and Miguel kiss near the ocean before Valentina talks to him too and how far he has come to be an amazing student at the school.
