Julie Deas Barker, often referred to as Deas (days), is currently a senior enrolled at Middle Georgia State University. She is in the New Media and Communications program with hopes of one day becoming a news broadcaster. She was born in Gainesville, GA and spent half of her life in the beautiful North Georgia mountains and then moved to Perry, GA in seventh grade. At age 16, she worked at Pearson Farms which is a peach / pecan packing shed where she spent five years there. While working, she attended the Westfield Schools and graduated in 2015. After she graduated high school she went straight to Middle Georgia State University and is currently working at Destiny Fitness of Perry. While being at Middle Georgia State University she has received two awards. She ran cross country for the school in 2017 and received the "Sunshine Award." Her second award was presented to her at 'The Knight of The Oscars' where she received "Best Field Reporting." Even more, she is currently in the Honor Society and a member of the Dean's list.
