Welcome to WikiProject Formula One. This project was formed in October 2004 to better organize information in articles related to Formula One. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please see the to-do list on the talk page.

Scope and Goals edit

To create and edit featured article quality Formula One articles on Wikipedia, with the intent of making Wikipedia an accurate and valued reference for Formula One information.
To keep articles encyclopedic in nature.
To establish a uniform style for driver biographies, teams and races.

Navigation templates edit

{{Formula One}} - top of Formula One, the articles in that series, and the six F1 lists.
{{Formula One teams}} - bottom of articles on currently active teams and drivers.
{{Formula One races}} - bottom of every grand prix article (i.e. every article listed on the template, and at List of Formula One Grands Prix).

Custom templates edit

{{F1 team}} - top of all F1 constructor/team articles.
{{F1 race}} - top of all grand prix articles.
{{F1 circuit}} - in all F1 circuit articles, usually at the top.
{{F1 driver}} - top of all current driver articles.
{{Racing car}} - top of all car articles.
{{Former F1 driver}} - top of all former driver articles.
{{F1 race report}} - bottom of all race report articles.

Table formatting templates edit

{{F1 Grand Prix table}} - for lists of winners on GP articles; generates style and column headers
{{F1 race table}} - for race report classification tables; generates style and column headers
{{F1 quali table}} - for race report qualification tables; generates style and column headers

Other templates edit

{{F1 driver results legend 2}} - to accompany driver results tables of the sort at 2005 Formula One season#Driver _results.
{{F1-stub}} - all Formula One-related stubs, except for biographies ({{F1-bio-stub}}). Use {{motorsport-stub}} for more general motorsport stubs.
{{WikiProject Formula One}} - this WikiProject's template; belongs at the top of the talk page of every F1-related article.
