David Guerrero (born October 19, 1973) is a man who has been missing since April 6, 1987.[1][2][3][4]

Disappearance edit

The last time that Guerrero was seen was at 6:00 pm, after he had arrived home from school. A half-hour later he later changed his clothes, and left for his interview, which was at a religious art exhibition at a prestigious La Maison art gallery, Guerrero had earlier complained that he was very nervous about the interview, and according to a classmate, also complained that he had stomach pain and well as a headache.[5] When he had left his home in Malaga, Spain, as he had planned to take a bus to attend the painting exhibition he never showed up for the interview. When at 9:00 PM, Guerrero's father José arrived at the art academy to take his son home, but then discovered that his son never showed, he also then found that he wasn’t at home either. Seriously concerned he then drove to the police station to report his son as missing.[6][7]

Investigation and aftermath edit

Massive searches by the poilce were were conducted to find Guerrero, but none were successful, and when Guerrero's family and friends were questioned no information turned up.[8] Guerrero was reportedly seen in Lisbon, however police were unable to locate him.[9] Police do think that someone may have befriended Guerrero as well as convincing him to run away. It is believed that he may have been taken by a network of art forgers, who when discovering his talent thought they could use him as he was a extremely talented painter. There was a suspect, a 70-year-old Swiss man staying at a hotel in the city where Guerrero lived between March and April 1987. A woman working at the hotel stated that she saw Guerrero with that man.[10] Also a caricature of a man resembling the suspect was found in Guerrero’s room. All the information pointed toward Switzerland, but when the police followed the trace, there was again no evidence of any kind,[11][12] also the suspect died in 1990.[13] Guerrero's father died in October 2015, and the situation has forced the rest of Guerrero's family to request that Guerrero be formally declared dead.[14][15]

The Shadows was the name of a heel jobber professional wrestling tag team in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1987. The team consisted of two masked wrestlers known as Light and Dark or simply "Shadow #1" and "Shadow #2".The team consisted of Randy Colley who was "Shadow #1" and Jose Luis Rivera who was "Shadow #2".[8]

History edit

Colley was previously part of the tag team Demolition as the original Smash, and before that a tag team called The Moondogs as Moondog Rex and was a one time WWF Tag Team Champion with Moondog King and then later Moondog Spot. The Moondogs were very successful since the Moondogs held the WWF tag team title once as well having won many tag team titles in the World Wrestling Council (WWC). Rivera had wrestled in the WWF before as The Red Demon, and under his real name, and under both identities wrestled against both babyfaces and heels.[9] Shortly after Colley left Demolition and was replaced by Barry Darsow, Colley and Rivera would form the masked Shadows tag-team, and they would make their debut as a team in Worcester, Massachusetts on March 17, 1987 at a house show defeating the team of Lanny Poffo and Nick Kiniski,[10] and The Shadows would have their first TV match also in Worcester, Massachusetts on April 23, 1987 when they teamed with "Iron" Mike Sharp and lost to Blackjack Mulligan, Billy Jack Haynes and Tito Santana.[11] The Shadows also had a few matches against The Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty) during the Rockers first stint in the WWF (which only lasted two weeks, and which after they were fired) in 1987.[12] Since the Shadows wore matching outfits of either black or white or black or grey and had nearly identical builds, the referees could not tell them apart, which allowed the team to make a lot of illegal switches during matches. The Shadows would also have a minor feud with The Killer Bees a team composed of "Jumpin'" Jim Brunzell and B. Brian Blair and would lose every match they had with the Bees.[13] The Shadows scored a rare victory in Detroit, Michigan when the defeated they team of S. D. Jones and Lanny Poffo.[14] The Shadows faced many top tag-teams like The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques and Raymond), The Can-Am Connection, (Rick Martel and Tom Zenk), and Strike Force (Rick Martel and Tito Santana), and gave those teams many hard matches, though the Shadows always lost. The Shadows had very little success and never appeared on a pay-per-view card, though they did appear on a Coliseum WWF home video VHS cassette called WWF High Flyers in which they had a match against the team of Paul Roma and Jim Powers, known as The Young Stallions, and it was a match that which the Shadows had with the Stallions where Vince McMahon called Roma and Powers "Two Young Stallions" thus naming the team. Rivera and Colley would lose every match they had with the Stallions through early to mid 1987, and although Rivera was able to beat Jim Powers in some house show matches, but he didn't keep his winning streak as Powers would advenge his loss with a victory over Rivera in a house show match on October 1987.[15][16] Rivera's partner Colley would also lose a match to Powers' partner Roma at a Boston Gardens house show.[17] Colley and Rivera would continue to wrestle exclusively at house shows and wouldn't reappear on TV until November 17. Shortly after the Shadows then quietly disbanded.

Age progression of Rothganger to age 42

When an investigation was conducted, detectives were informed that Tammy’s mother was dating a man named Martin Priest who was living with her and Tammy for a few months before Tammy disappeared in 1984.[23] It was revealed that in 1980, Priest had been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the second-degree murder of a 12-year-old Nevada, Missouri girl, but was released three years later when the verdict was overturned on appeal. In January 2016, Priest was charged with the murder of Rothganger, 32 years after her disappearance.[24]

Priest was considered a suspect in the murder of a 15-year-old girl whose mother he had similarly befriended, and is also suspected of several other murders.[25]

Base of operationsPort Royal, Jamaica

Roche Braziliano (sometimes spelled Rock, Roch, Roc, Roque, Brazilliano, or Brasiliano) (c. 1630 – disappeared c. 1671) was a Dutch pirate born in the town of Groningen. His pirate career lasted from 1654 until his disappearance around 1671. He was first made famous in Alexandre Exquemelin's 1678 book The Buccaneers of America; Exquemelin did not know Braziliano's real name, but historians have found he was probably born as Gerrit Gerritszoon and that he and his parents moved to Dutch-controlled Brazil.[1] He is known as "Roche Braziliano", which in English translates to "Rock the Brazilian", due to his long exile in Brazil.[2]

Pirate career edit

Roche Braziliano was a notoriously cruel buccaneer who operated out of Port Royal, Jamaica. He was a privateer in Bahia, Brazil, before moving to Port Royal in 1654. He led a mutiny and adopted the life of a buccaneer. On his first adventure he captured a ship of immense value and brought it back safely to Jamaica. He eventually was caught and sent to Spain, but he escaped with threats of vengeance from his followers.[3] He soon resumed his criminal career, purchasing a new ship from fellow pirate François l'Olonnais and later sailing in company with Sir Henry Morgan among others. Braziliano's first mate Yellows eventually became a captain in his own right, sailing with Braziliano, Morgan, and others in raids against the Spanish.[4]

Atrocities edit

Drunken and debauched, Braziliano would threaten to shoot anyone who did not drink with him. He roasted alive two Spanish farmers on wooden spits after they refused to hand over their pigs. He treated his Spanish prisoners barbarously, typically cutting off their limbs or roasting them alive over a fire.[5]

Fate edit

After 1671, Braziliano was never seen or heard from again. Even to this date, nobody knows what became of the Dutch pirate. Whether he (and his vessel and men) were lost at sea in a brutal storm, was secretly captured, or possibly retired and lived the rest of his life in anonymity is a matter of debate.

Anne-Marie Péladeau (born 1964) is the daughter of Canadian businessman Pierre Péladeau, the founder of Quebecor, a diversified company with interests in printing and publishing and based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

In 1999, Anne-Marie sued brothers Pierre Karl and Erik over a $21 million inheritance she said had been denied her when their father died. Pierre Karl and Erik were running Quebecor, while Anne-Marie was largely estranged from them having suffered from substance abuse problems and living on an allowance of $100,000 per year. An out-of-court settlement was reached but her brothers then sued her lawyers, who then counter-sued. To date the case has not been settled.

In October 2005, she was videotaped by Quebecor-owned news crews in a violent scuffle with Montreal police officers that resulted in her arrest and triggered questions by many, including Mayor Gérald Tremblay, about police brutality and the use of unnecessary force during her arrest. She faced 21 charges including theft and assault of police officers, but was in the end was released on bail and sent to a detoxification centre near Montreal.

On August 9, 2007, Peladeau was arrested again at her home in the Montreal borough of Rosemont for cocaine and heroin trafficking.[6] Five days later she pleaded guilty to three counts of drug-trafficking.[7]
