Darren Jay Webster (born July 25, 1978) is an American game designer, musician and DJ. He is a Game Designer with Realta Entertainment working on BandFuse: Rock Legends.

Early Life edit

Darren was born in Lubbock, Texas, [1] and raised in Bellaire, Texas. He attended Bellaire High School and Marine Military Academy. He found his love of music in the 4th grade when he started learning the Trombone. A few years later he began learning to play guitar and bass guitar. His father, Jay has a business he operates with his mother, Martha.

2000 - 2010 edit

Darren started working in the Information Technology industry at Everyone's Internet and Rackshack.net in 2000.

In 2002 he got involved in the Houston Nightclub scene as a promoter and began learning how to Dj.

In 2003 he began Dj'ing locally under the name Dj Genesis. He also started working at the nightclub, 1415 Bar and Lounge located in the Montrose district near Downtown Houston as Assistant Manager later taking on the role of Manager. He left 1415 Bar and Lounge in early 2006 after taking the club from being an unknown venue to one of the top 10 hot spots in Houston, TX.

Later in 2006 he began working with Kirk Graham on a music project named Phase Theory[2], which released music to iTunes and other sites later in 2007. At the end of 2006 he moved to Simi Valley, CA and began working as an Audio Engineer at Midway Games, LA. Later in 2007 he took over as Audio Director.

Through 2007 and 2008 he toured around the US Dj'ing in a number of cities, most notably as the headline Dj for Gothic Fest 2007[3] in Chicago, IL. He left Midway Games in 2008 to return to Texas and continue his Dj career and began throwing regular events and guest Dj'ing at clubs around Houston, TX and held the headline spot for a number of events at Numbers Nightclub. In that time he also Dj'ed with Martin Atkins.

2011 - Present edit

Darren retired from Dj'ing in June of 2011 after an incident in a nightclub led him to decide that it was time to get out. He still Dj's today, but rarely and only for special occasions. In April of 2012 he moved back to California, this time to the Bay Area, to join up with Realta Entertainment to help create BandFuse: Rock Legends as a Game Designer. He is still with Realta today.
