Hi, I'm Dan Carkner. I live in Vancouver, Canada. I've been a Wikipedia editor since 2005, although I only got more serious about creating well-sourced articles more recently.

My two main interests for creating new articles are 20th century Dutch East Indies and Indonesian political and cultural history, and Eastern European Jewish artist biographies (with a focus on Klezmer music and the Yiddish Theatre). If you are working on articles on these topics and want help, feel free to ask on my Talk Page and I'll see what I can do. Please see my sub-page User:Dan Carkner/YiddishMusicArticlesImprovement for a list I have been building to assess and improve Yiddish music articles.
