The General By Vans edit
Formerly known as DQM The General By Vans, The General By Vans or The General offers a selection of elevated Vans footwear and apparel in a modern setting.

Founded originally in 2003 Dave's Quality Meats, (DQM) was an independently owned clothing boutique and skate shop. The shop was started by Chris Keeffe and Dave Ortiz. Both being from New York came together to put together a staple to many living in New York in the early 2000's. Chris Keeffe provided a strong background in the skateboarding world while Dave Ortiz was an artist. The store was built to look like a butcher store with refrigerators and meat hanging from the ceiling while providing a boutique atmosphere similar to that of Supreme. In 2011 Vans partnered up with DQM to create it's first joint location in SoHo the popular New York shopping district. In September of 2017 the two brands opened up their second location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as The General By Vans.

Both The General By Vans locations carry a selection of curated Vans footwear and apparel. Among the footwear, both locations provide full lines of Vans Vault footwear along with all of the Vans classics. Both stores act as skate shops with a small selection of skateboards and skate accessories.
