Earth: One Amazing Day (2017 film)

Earth is a 2017 nature documentary feature film which depicts the diversity of wild habitats and creatures across the planet. It is a sequel to the 2007 documentary film, Earth.

Earth: One Amazing Day, was released in the United States on 6 October 2017. It made its world premiere in Beijing[1]. This was the first feature film to be certified as a British/Chinese film [2][3] under the U.K. / China Film Co-Production Treaty[4].

Plot Summary

Earth: One Amazing Day, reveals the power of the natural world. Over the course of one single day, the film tracks the sun from the highest mountains to the remotest islands to exotic jungles.

Production

Earth: One Amazing Day was co-directed by Richard Dale (BAFTA and Peabody winner The Human Body) and Peter Webber (Oscar nominee The Girl with the Pearl Earring). The film is scripted by leading screenwriter Frank Cottrell-Boyce (London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony, The Railway Man). The film is produced by Stephen McDonogh p.g.a (Walking With Dinosaurs 3D and Louis Theroux’s award-winning feature My Scientology Movie) and executive produced by Neil Nightingale (Enchanted Kingdom and Wild Africa).

In 2017 Stephen McDonogh was nominated by Producers Guild of America 29th Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Theatrical Motion Pictures for Earth: One Amazing Day[6].

The International Film Music Critics Association nominated Alex Heffes original score on Earth: One Amazing day for the 2017 IFMCA Awards for Best Original Score for a Documentary [7]
