Let's Talk Creative

edit

Let's Talk Creative is a platform that gives advice to young creatives in industry, interview professionals, feature the fresh faces in the creative industries and provides takeovers to give a unique insight to industry on Instagram. We also ask each of our interviewees who are their standout creatives..[1]

History

edit

Let's Talk Creative was initially founded under the then name of founder Megan as Morgan Vickers Blog[2] Within this period it grew and interviewed creatives predominantly in the design and illustration industries. This included industry leaders such as Katy Cowan from Creative Boom[3][4], Ben The Illustrator a world renowned colourful creative from Somerset[5][6][7], Ben Wild from the prolific Design and Motion Company Ben Wild Studios[8][9] and director of Birmingham Design Luke Tonge[10][11]

Featured was launched on March 11th 2021[12]. It was set up and described as "the brand new place for young designers. It aims to showcase designers, gain feedback as well as connecting with other creatives." It launched with features from the then students Luke Drummond[13] and Kalina Nikolova[14]. It has since then developed and been an ongoing section of the website.

edit

On May 6th 2021 a series of posts on the different social media accounts were posted asking for graduates to respond to be featured on the platform[15]. This was later compiled into an extension of the existing 'Featured' section and released daily on the social media platforms. Megan later reflected on this on her Instagram account with quotes from graduates who took part in the feature.[16] As of July 2022 the 21' Featured page has been linked back in to the main Featured section for easier navigation.[17]

Let's Talk Creative

edit

The name changed on August 10th 2021 and was documented in a series of posts to the social media accounts[18][19]. On August 30th 2021 they announced that they had surpassed 1000 unique viewers to the website.[20] They were also added to the Outside Directory on the 8th December 2021[21].
