Regina Steenhuisen Walters Lawyer/Actress
Regina Steenhuisen Walters was born in East Los Angeles to British born parents of Cuban and Jamaican descent. She was raised between Massachusetts and New York with her five elder brothers until the age of eighteen. Her mother, a former attorney at the US Supreme Court is a devoted humanitarian who currently serves as Senior Counsel at the International European Court and serves as an honorary diplomat to the Republic of Cuba.
Her late father, was a architect and qualified chartered surveyor who also served as a Pastor at the Calvary Church of God in Christ in the United States.
Regina is a qualified junior barrister who specialised in Criminal Law whilst completing undergraduate studies at Princeton and Oxford University. She has two masters degrees in Linguistics and Anthropology from the University of Cambridge in addition a PhD in Criminology and International Law from Oxford University.
During the course of her academic pursuits, she ventured into a career enlisting into the US army trained as an Air Marshal before transferring to receive training at the RMA Sandhurst then finally endeavoured to become a lawyer at both the American and British Bars.
Ms Walters is a dedicated advocate for the advancement of child development and interned at the United Nations in the Republic of Cuba and The Hague. Whilst completing her PhD in Criminology, she interned at the Jamaican Diplomatic Mission in the United Kingdom to explore the dichotomy of social expansion and international relations amidst crime rates on the Island of Jamaica.
Currently , Regina serves as in-house advisory junior counsel at the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in the United Kingdom and the Crown Prosecution Service. Her recreational time involved studies at Yale School of Drama which has allowed her to pursue her current acting career.
Having featured in the Good Wife before it ended in 2016, She has appeared in the Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion, OWN's Greenleaf, She is to feature in the BET show, In Comtempt and is to appear on the upcoming 2019 series, Top Boy.
She is the first cousin of the acclaimed British actor and former member of So Solid crew, Ashley Walters and co-founder of Kingdom Drama School and the great-niece of Cuban pianist, singer and actress, Rita Montaner.
