CorenANIBot

This user account is a bot operated by Coren (talk). It is used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually, in accordance with the bot policy. This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn or expired, and therefore shouldn't be making edits that appear to be unassisted except in the operator's or its own user and user talk space.
Administrators: if this bot is making edits that appear to be unassisted to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace, please block it.

Function edit

CorenANIBot watches additions to specified pages (WP:AN/I and WP:AN are planned targets) for creation of new sections and, upon finding a new section, creates a new subpage named "<page page>/date/<header>" with the contents of that section and replaces the section with a transclusion of the new subpage garnished with links to watch, view (for permalinks) and edit that subpage specifically.

CorenANIBot will never try to move a section twice, or attempt to move a section whose subpage already exist.

Operation edit

The CorenANIBot is meant to function continuously, without direct human supervision.

Program edit

CorenANIBot is written in Perl and takes advantage of the new Mediawiki API for everything except page modifications.
