Uri Brener (born 1974) is an Israeli composer. Raised in Moscow in a family of musicians, he has been playing the piano and bassoon since the age of four.
During his teenage years, he moved to Germany and later to Israel. Since early age, he won several scholarships and awards. In 2007 he won the Israeli Prime Minister's award for composition. During the same year his debut album – a solo piano project called A Walk was released.
Brener accepted the offer of being the resident composer of the Israel Sinfonietta Beersheba. In October 2007, the Sinfonietta premiered his concerto for piano and orchestra, “Blarings, Clouds, Celebrations”. A few months after it was first played, the concerto has won the ACUM award.
