I often get asked for my favorite species of butterfly - it's the Red-spotted purple, which I have seen in real life with my own eyes in parks on a few memorable occasions!

Wikipedian cipherbug is currently a Ph.D. candidate writing a dissertation about the development of the Department of Entomology at the Natural History Museum, London. Their current goal is to correct and expand existing pages on, in particular, Lepidopterists associated with the Department in the twentieth century.

They love butterflies and moths, and they do a lot of statistical programming in R (for fun and for publication)! Cipherbug originally joined Wikipedia as part of a course they took in undergrad but stuck around.
