Notes about Volapük - emails from wikipedia in a strange language.
It would seem that recently some users have received an email from the Volapük Wikipedia written in the Volapük language. This email was to notify the recipients that a message had been placed (by a bot) on their vo.wikipedia.org talk page. If you've given an email address in your preferences, then emails can be sent to you - although the sender will not know your email address. In this case, it seems to be sending mail to people who have a unified account; sometimes accounts are created on other wikis even when you haven't edited on them. You can view these in Special:MergeAccount, which might show vo.wikipedia.org.
Volapük is only spoken by about 20 people.
Some guy built a wikipedia in it, and used bots to auto-translate over 100,000 articles. So it became one of the wikipedias with most articles. There's a blog article about it.
