Chris Martinez (born August 9, 1995) is an American soccer player who plays as a Goalkeeper for Seton Hall University in the Big East Conference.
Early career edit
Chris Martinez was raised by Dominican Republic / Ecuadorian immigrant parents in Manhattan, New York and later moved to Englewood, New Jersey and attended Dwight Morrow High School. Throughout his youth soccer career, Martinez played in the Players Development Academy (PDA), New York Cosmos, and New York Red Bulls Academy youth system. While with the PDA academy, Martinez won a national championships as a member of the U18 squad.
College career edit
Martinez played at the college level for four years. One year was spent playing at Montclair State University RedHawks and the next three years at Seton Hall University. Throughout his college career, Martinez was honored in final weekly awards alongside defender Nick Najera. They both played a key role and earned a spot in the Big East Conference weekly honor roll, after a 2-0 victory against the Villanova Wildcats.
