Chaitanya Sawant (India, born Feb 9, 1981 in Mumbai India) is a Japanese martial artist. He is a full-time instructor of Universal Shotokan Karate Union. He holds a 5th Dan from USKU, 3rd Dan from JKF, 4th Dan AJSK. He has also started his own Institute named Shotokan Karate-Do Federation in 2011.

Chaitanya had always intended to seek a career in sports. Before joining Karate he was in various sports like Swimming, Athletics, Marathon and many more but it was Karate that took his interest. Chaitanya started karate in the year 1990 and achieved his black belt in the year 1995. He won many National as well as International Kata & Kumite tournaments till 2008. He has represented India in various International Tournaments. Further not stopping at Black Belt he decided to pursue his career in the field of Karate. Later after 2008, he opened his own Karate Federation under the name Shotokan Karate-Do Federation His only motto is to promote strong sportsmanship and bring international standards in India. He has taken Japanese Diploma in Karate under the guidance of Hanshi Kenichi Fukamizu. His present holding grades are:
