Viper (character) edit

Viper (code name: Pandemic) is a character from the game Valorant. Her role is controller.[1] and she’s been available since the Closed Beta[2].

Biography

Sabine Callas was born in the United States, possibly in Seattle. She has a doctorate and awards such as the Denton Outstanding Innovation Award[3] and the R. Francis Prize[3]. Having previously worked with Kingdom Corporation[4] to end up becoming its first Chief Scientific Officer on the board of advisors. Also influencing the conglomerate’s ventures in Morocco[5][6]. However, during that time, an unknown incident occurred. There isn’t much information nor knowledge about what happened, although she isolated herself after that. After the events of First Light[7], the VALORANT Protocol was founded, with her being a part of it.

"Just think, Sabine... you used to heal with your skill. Funny." — Omen[8][9]

Viper's life took a dark turn after an undisclosed incident, plunging her into a vengeful pursuit fueled by hatred and rage. Abandoning her healing past, she embraced poisons and toxins in search of retribution, with the target of her vendetta shrouded in mystery.

Her enigmatic connection with Omen[10] is hinted through their use of real names in dialogue, sparking speculations of a past romantic involvement. Theories suggest Omen[10]'s accident may be the catalyst for Viper's dark path, but confirmation remains elusive.

A successful chemist under Kingdom[4], Viper rose to become the first Chief Scientific Officer on the Board of Advisors. Her association with Kingdom[4] during the manipulation of Bind's citizens for a Radianite[11] refinery adds intrigue to her backstory. Her current stance toward Kingdom, like other PROTOCOL Agents, remains ambiguous but tinged with disdain.

Personality

“They call me a monster. Shall I prove them right?” — Viper (Match Start)[12]

She is confident and brave and desires her enemies’ fear. Viper refers to herself as a monster. Her abilities are considered “toxic” too, however she’s caring and kind towards her teammates, even though she won’t hesitate to correct them harshly. Viper is an agent with lots of violence accumulated inside as she has declared many times that her enemies have taken away from her important things and will do anything to achieve her revenge.

Appearance

Viper has jet black hair and green eyes. She covers her mouth and nose with a black mask, which turns into a gas mask when she uses her ultimate ability, covering her whole head. She wears a green skin-tight bodysuit with some shoulder plates and a container with toxins on her back. Furthermore, she also has a pair of gloves that release toxic gasses. For shoes, she has black boots that go up to her thighs.

Her abilities are based on toxicants that cause quick respiratory failure when inhaled. The poisonous chemicals are “Toxins”. Although, this term is actually used for harmful biological components found in nature.

Dossier Overview

In Patch 4.04, a mysterious blackmailer disseminated a dossier[22] on Viper, located in Bind. The document begins by highlighting Viper's notable achievements, including being honored with the R. Francis Prize and the Denton Outstanding Innovation Award. Notably, she also secured the position of the inaugural Chief Scientific Officer for Kingdom's[4] Board of Advisors.

The narrative takes a dramatic turn as the dossier delves into an incident that altered the trajectory of Viper's life, transforming her into a solitary figure who sacrificed her humanity in the relentless pursuit of vengeance.

The Blackmailer poses a series of probing questions, ultimately seeking to unravel the enigma of what Viper will become once her vindictive goals are fulfilled.
