The Mall edit

Virginia Center Commons is a mall in Glen Allen, Virginia. It is located just off U.S. 1, north of I-295, in Henrico County. It opened October 2, 1991.

The mall was developed by Edward J. DeBartolo Corp, Crown American Corp. and Faison Associates. The land was zoned in 1980, but the project itself was slow to begin.

Currently, the mall is owned by the Simon Company. It has one floor with over 100 stores, 4 anchors, and a 20-screen Regal Cinemas (opened 1995) adjacent to the mall property.

Rumors are that the mall has plans to expand beyond one of the anchors to add 30-40 more stores.

Within the past five years, the area around the mall that had largely been empty since the mall's opening has begun to develop, with several office buildings, hotels, outparcel retailers, and restaurants.
