My interests include art (particularly the technical side of it and its history), computer science, and certain kinds of history and archeology. For instance I like the dark ages and prehistoric Europe. I have an ambivalent interest in animals; I find it sinister when people speak in respectful awe of popular megafauna such as pandas, elephants, wolves and whales, but I think some of the less popular ones are cute, and I like oddities. I'm slightly biased towards land animals, though, because the sea seems full of slimy things with pincers, encrustations, and parasites. Gag me with a spoon, etc.

I also enjoy etymology. I habitually read dictionaries and other reference material, usually during meals, which has created a strange psychological condition where I feel uncomfortable eating without a dull book to look at. The more boring and inaccurate, the better, such as Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, which is highly unreliable, or BARKHAM BURROUGHS' ENCYCLOPAEDIA OF ASTOUNDING FACTS AND USEFUL INFORMATION, which is just awful.

User:Wurstgeist is also me. I created that username because I forgot my password once. It's a far better name.
