*No, this is not a mistake: Champaign-Urbana was known as Champaign-Urbana long before anyone ever thought of calling it Urbana-Champaign. Urbana's primary claim to fame is that it holds most (but not all) of the campus of the University of Illinois, ergo the name reversal within the last 25 years in all of the U of I's published literature. But Champaign continues to be the larger of the two communities, as has been the case for as long as I can remember. And people around town, in either city, actually call it Champaign-Urbana.
