This is my very first experience with Wikipedia editing. I am originally an architect with experience in project management, sustainability and corporate social responsibility. I work with the United Nations Global Compact and I am currently involved as SDGs expert for the online edit-a-thon on SDGs during Global Goals Week, led by Project Everyone. This is part of the larger initiative "Wiki loves Sustainable Development Goals".
There are currently massive gaps in content about the Global Goals on Wikipedia – only some of them have their own articles. In addition, hundreds of other Wikipedia articles which could and should be linked to specific Goals are not. By mobilising a community of SDG experts and hundreds of volunteers to create and update the SDG-related articles on Wikipedia, we can raise awareness of the Goals amongst new audiences, strengthen the overall Global Goals movement and lay the foundations for more in-depth SDG related content on Wikipedia after this event.
