Background

I'm a IT professional with a particular interest in the Australian wine and brewing industries, and in computing. I have had a long involvement within the Oz open source community and involvement with adoption of many open source technologies within corporate computing environments.

I enjoy playing Squash, Reading, Music (everything from Led Zeppelin and Kate Miller-Heidke to Wagner and Jadu), Gardening, Computing, Travel and attempting to learn German. I'm Australian and live in a regional area well outside the major capital cities. My travel destinations include Europe (England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark, Hungary), and the United States, Canada, Turkey, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vanuatu. My favourite destinations (outside of Oz of course) seem to be either Eastern European (Budapest, Zakopane) or French influenced (Montreal, Phnom Penh).
