William Keever (Bill) was born 14 March 1976 to Bob and Carolyn Keever of Rutherfordton, NC. At an early age Bill showed promise as being and up and coming star in the shooting word. He shot his first targets at the Old Hickory Gun Club in Bostic, NC where he broke 14 out of 25 with a .410 shotgun his grandfather had given him. Bill went on to become a four time trap shooting All American with 13 trophies from the Grand American. After a short five year career in American Trap he set his sights on the Olympics. After obtaining his AA degree from Isothermal Community College he joined the United States Army on 1 Oct 1996. After basic and advanced individual training Bill was assigned to the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) where his career as a soldier and shooter would take off. One of the highlights of Bill's career as a shooter came in the summer of 2000 where he earned a spot on the Olympic Team with a come from behind victory that was right out of a fairy tale. Since that point he has traveled the world earning numerous medals at all levels of competition. As a well rounded individual Bill saw the need to assist soldiers in training so he volunteered to work as a Drill Sergeant during the fall of 2006. Also he has worked very had to raise the level of shooting in the US by hiring three of the best double trap shooters in the world, Josh Richmond, Glenn Eller and Jeff Holguin.
