Markeb is a variant form of Markab the proper name for some stars. See Markab.
- k Puppis, in the constellation Puppis, was former Kappa Argus lettered by Bayer. Lacaille re-lettered it as k Puppis in Velis or k Pouppe (sic.) du Navire. Originally, Bayer listed Markeb for this star in his Uranometria.
- Kappa Velorum, in the constellation Vela, was later Kappa Argus (or Kappa du Navire) re-lettered by Lacaille. It was originally Bayer's b Argus, not b Velorum now in use. Reccently, Markeb erroneously transfered from k Pup to Kappa Vel.
