As a reminder, any editor can remove an article from the PROD process by removing the tag. Unless they totally blanked the page or nominated for CSD at the same time, it is not appropriate to reinstate the PROD tag, as you did here. Once the prod tag is removed, PROD is not available as an avenue for deletion. If you believe that article should be deleted, AFD it. Caste issues
Hi there! I wonder if you could give more information about the "caste consensus" issue you keep bringing up with Zora on Talk:Shilpa Shetty? I'm more interested in the how and why such references are not allowed according to WP:BLP (according to her) when there are caste-references and clan-references all over the place in Wikipedia (Rani Mukherjee for example. I'm not sure what the consensus is so I would appreciate your quick rundown of what the issues are about.
For the record, I also object to Zora's continued removal of vodka sponsorship information. There is nothing about "advertising" in WP and the articles of other stars contain information about their endorsements. Back + more
Hi Baka, I'm back from my vacation, and wanted to give some update to you which may interest you. In BD, I organized several wiki meetups and conducted expeditions to take photographs of ancient structures. I went to visit the Dhakeshwari Temple, and took a lot of photos of the Siva Mandir's on the temple premises, and the main temple along with the goddess statues. The temple looks really awesome face to face!!
Even better, I got hold of a book by the Historian Muntasir Mamun, Prof. of Dhaka University, who is considered to be the greatest historian on the history of Dhaka. His book contains very interesting details about Dhakeshwari, along with old photos (<1947, and hence in PD). I'll start adding the photos and text/refs once I get over my jet lag!
Next, I got hold of some rare photos of the Ramna Kali Mandir (destroyed by Pak Army in 1971, and since not reconstructed). I also tracked down a journalist who took some splendid photos of the Kantaji Temple, and I convinced him to upload the pics to WP.
I did took a lot of photos of Mughal era forts, mosques, and other ruins. Too bad I ran out of time!!

Partition of India, migration figure
Bakaman, I have never seen that 7 million figure before. The real figure is 3.5 million and I provided half a dozen sources for this, which you simply deleted and reverted the changes. Note, most sources are Indian. Please explain yourself. You can revert the edit yourself, or I am putting this forward to an Admin to review.

Deleting Categories of Jewish Athletes
Hi. I believe this is related to an issue that has interested you in the past. At http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion#Category:Jewish_fencers some people are suggesting that Jewish athletes, beginning with Jewish Fencers, should be deleted. I do not think that is the correct approach, or consistent with wiki policy, and thought that others might want to weigh in on the discussion. Indian Irish
Hi, thanks for editing my page, but I'm not sure that I can describe myself as 'Indian Irish' I was born in Belfast but left aged two and have few memories. I mean, I wasn't even old enough to drink Guinness :(
Hindu musicians
Why are you categorizing everybody who's a Hindu and a musician under Category:Hindu musicians? The guidelines clearly state that people should only be categorized by ethnicity or religion if this has significant bearing on their career.
Categorizing Anup Jalota as a Hindu musician is probably justified because he mainly sings Hindu bhajans, but I don't think that being a Hindu had significant bearing on the careers of Ravi Shankar, Rahul Dev Burman, Amit Kumar or Kishore Kumar. utcursch | talk 08:19, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (categories) Categorization of people (3.3 Heritage), which demonstrates that something such as "Hindu musicians" is clearly contemplated by Wiki policy. It says: Heritage
People are sometimes categorized by notable ancestry, culture, or ethnicity, depending upon the common conventions of speech for each nationality. A hyphen is used to distinguish the word order: ....The heritage should be combined with the occupation, replacing the nationality alone (for example, Category:African-American actors).
Concurrent citizenship may be reflected by duplicating the occupation (for example, Category:Jewish American actors and Category:Israeli actors)."
Furthermore, as to reflecting the fact that the person is a Hindu in the article ...
1. Wikipedia Manual of Style. The Wikipedia Manual of Style is our guide. It states, in Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies), as follows: "The opening paragraph should give .... Nationality (In the normal case this will mean the country of which the person is a citizen or national, or was a citizen when the person became notable. Ethnicity should generally not be emphasized in the opening unless it is relevant to the subject's notability.)"
2. Nationality. The Wiki definition of "nationality" states, inter alia: "Generally, nationality is established at birth by a child's place of birth (jus soli) and/or bloodline (jus sanguinis)."
3. Ethnicity. If one were to not consider the Hindus a nation, the question as to whether one should include the fact that a person is a Hindu in the opening paragraph of the person's bio could be answered by the the MOS reference to ethnicity.
"Ethnicity", under the Wikipedia definition, includes among its subsets people who have a shared nationality (not the focus of the above exception, obviously), and those who share a religion.
4. Notability Exception. Even with ethnicity, Wiki policy calls for its mention in the opening if it is relevant to the subjects's "notability."
To determine what notability means here, one must go to Wikipedia:Notability (people), the notability criteria guideline for Wikipedia.
That guideline states, inter alia, that "Notability on Wikipedia for people is based on the following criterion: The person has been a primary subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the person. This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, magazine articles, books, scholarly papers, and television documentaries ...."
Thus, where one is noted as being a Hindu in multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the person, such as newspaper articles, magazine articles, books, and the like, they meet the notability requirement. And thus it would be appropriate to include that fact in the opening paragraph of their bio.
Notability does not mean that they are famous for being of that group. Or that it has significant bearing on their career
5. Mention Later in the Bio. Even if: a) Hindus were not viewed as a nation; and b) the fact that a person was Hindu were not notable, that would only be reason to suggest under Wiki policy the fact that they are a Hindu should not be mentioned, generally, in the opening paragraph.
There is no suggestion at all in Wiki policy that it should not be mentioned further down in the article.

I never said Hindu=Meatpuppet. I never see as a person as a Hindu or otherwise as others may be doing. But it troubles me to see that a person who has never edited an article suddenly takes interest in it and then decides to revert to a version of a banned user. As long as I am on wikipedia, I will not allow other users to make proxy edits on behalf of banned users. This may not have been the case here, and I have already apologised to Amey for sounding harsh yesterday. I have no problem with him being called an Indian since he was of Tamil descent.I also don't want any Pakistan tag there on the talkpage and my mind is made up about it since he really has nothing to do with Pakistan except for the fact that he was born there. The only problem I have is you claiming that Lahore was in India.Lahore(along with the rest of Pakistan) was never part of India,which did not exist till augest 15th 1947.--Nadirali نادرالی

- Just out of curiosity. But, what is now known as Pakistan was a part of India. See Partition of India article. Lahore and Karachi were important cities of the country, till it was partitioned.
