Early life edit
Rajiv Soni was born in the 26th of August 1953 in Aurangabad which was then in the Nizam Hyderabad's dominion of Bedar and Bidar. His Father was briefly posted there as the Aerodrome Officer before moving to Hyderabad where Rajiv spent the first 4 years of his life. The house being on the fringe of an Indian Air Force airport and the constant interaction of his parents with the Pilots influenced his love for aviation. However, in a way to redefect his parents wishes, he did not take up flying. His Father was next posted to Gaya in 1956 where Rajiv joined his first school The Nazareth Academy which was run by American Nuns. The family moved to Delhi in 1958 where Rajiv joined The Summer Field School. In 1959 ,his Father was deputed to the Inland Water Transport Board which was based in Patna . Rajiv joined the St Michaels High Scolion and studied their till his ISC in 1970 In 1971, Rajiv joined the Department of Commerce, Patna College and graduated there from 1975 after losing a year to political. Agitation and closure of the University. He graduated with a First Class in Bachelor of if Commerce with Honours, in 1975.

Rajiv Soni is an experienced brand mentor with a demonstrated history of almost five decades in the marketing and advertising industry. He endeavors to ensure the salience of the corporate or product brand with all aspects of modern day promotion avenues. These include the implementation and sustenance of a digital media platform for the company including its presence on the web across various social sites, media planning and buying and the planning and execution of ground events. He began his journey in the year 1976 as a banker at the Union Bank of India. Post his tenure as a banker for seven years, he served as the COO of Mahima Advertising for five years. In the year 1988, he started working with Tata Steel Limited in the Corporate Affairs and Communications Department. During his tenure, apart from the corporate affairs and branding functions, Rajiv Soni was also responsible for the product promotion and advertising activities of the various brands of the Steel Company and was an integral part of the teams that oversaw the transition of “Commodities to Brands”. The design and execution of corporate and brand campaigns were part of his KRA.
Post his tenure at Tata Steel for 25 years, Rajiv Soni currently engages his illustrious experience in the forte of making products to brands as a brand mentor and engineer for prominent business houses and corporates. He is also an advisor to Thakshila Educational Society.
Interests edit
Rajiv Soni’s other interests lie in photography and archival research on the various cities of India. He has authored “100 CC- A Century of Communication” released by Mr. Ratan N Tata. His second book ' Calkata -in focus' was released in 2020 and in 2021, the Managing Director of Tata Steel released "Fire Brands" that details the history of the brands of Tata Steel. His fourth Book is on the city of Patna titled 'Patna - Facts, Frames and Frozen Memories'. He then did Unsung Heroes of India and A Healing Legacy for his clients. His seventh book “Serampore” entails the story of 400 years of Serampore. He us currently working on teo more projects.
Photographer edit
He is one of the first pioneers of videography (1983) in Eastern India and has been an avid photographer with close to five decades of experience. He has held individual photography exhibitions on the architecture of Kolkata titled "Bricks of the Raj" and "Pillars of the Past".

He is the recipient of several accolades notably "Fulcrum Lifetime Achievement Award 2021" ," Communicator of the Decade Award by Public Relations Council of India (2022) , Lifetime Achievement Citation by Public Relations Society of India(Kolkata) 2022 and many more.
