"Resurrection" was a studio album that was supposed to be Michael Jackson’s 11th studio album, but it was cancelled.

Michael Jackson has announced that he will release an album of all-new material in Autumn 2007. will.i.am, one of the producers involved in the project, has announced that the album will be released independently online.[3] The title is yet to be announced. It will be his first album in a year since four consecutive greatest hits and box sets between 2003 and 2006 (Number Ones, The Ultimate Collection, The Essential Michael Jackson and Visionary) and his first studio album in six years, since 2001's Invincible.

Shortly after being found "not guilty" on ten charges related to the child molestation allegations of 2005, Jackson went to Bahrain, where, amongst other things, he spent time with the Bahraini Royal Family. One of the members whom Jackson met was Sheik Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Prince of Bahrain, and friend of Jackson's brother Jermaine.[4]
In April 2006, Two Seas Records announced that Jackson had started recording a new album that was due to be released in Autumn 2007. The label, which is owned by Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, had also announced that it would be releasing "I Have This Dream", a long-promised charity single that has never been released.[5] It was also announced that Jackson would be working on a Katrina charity single, "From the Bottom of My Heart", which would be released by Two Seas, but this was not released.[6] Guy Holmes, a UK record executive, was announced the CEO of Two Seas who will also be handling Jackson's business interests.[7] Though Holmes' company later clarified that this had never been formalised.[8]
In June 2006, Jackson moved to Ireland where he stayed with dancer Michael Flatley in his castle in County Cork.[9]
In September 2006, Jackson's PR (Raymone Bain), announced that Jackson and Two Seas were no longer affiliated with each other.[10][8] Consequently, Jackson formed the Michael Jackson Company which will handle Jackson's finances and is thought to be releasing his upcoming album.[8]
In October 2006, Jackson had his first interview since leaving America with Billy Bush for Access Hollywood.[11] Parts of the interview were later shown in early November 2006. They showed Jackson working, in collaboration with will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas, on his new album.
In December 2006, Jackson moved to Las Vegas.[12] Jackson and Jack Wishna, a Vegas dealmaker, have been in talks about possible projects in Las Vegas.[11]
It is thought that Jackson will also be collaborating with Akon and Chris Brown (who performed "Thriller" at the 2006 World Music Awards, where Jackson received the Diamond Award for selling more than 100 albums).[13] DJ Whoo Kid also plans to create a collaboration between Jackson and 50 Cent.[14] A hoax press release mentioned a collaboration between the Jackson, 50 Cent and Lucy Diamonds, called "Now That I Found Love", which it said would be releaed on November 21 2006. DJ Whoo Kid later confirmed that it was a hoax and that, in fact, he had never heard of Lucy Diamond.[14] The Celebrity Big Brother housemate and lead singer of British band Towers of London, Donny Tourette, has also stated that there maybe a collaboration between himself and Jackson.[15]
