The most influential and well respected figure in the recent history of Garri is known as Major General Hassan Goro.
Though he almost everyone call him Hassan Goro, His real name is Hajj Hassan Hussein Abdi. Hassan Goro was born in summer of 1993 at Mount Agaal Moyale district previously known as the sidamo zone in southern Ethiopia. His Mothers name incitement needed. He was brought up by his grandmother who was a camel herder. As pastrolist always moves between Kenyan and Ethiopian border for greener pasture, Goro's family moved to Kenya in the 1950.
