Introduction edit
Hello, welcome to my page. As a wikieditor I aim to improve the community by doing the following:
- removing incorrect information
- maintaining an unbiased viewpoint
- ensuring as many voices as possible are represented
- adding my personal flair (read: attention to visual detail[1]) to articles
- working on eliminating the gender gap in wiki editing, information sourcing and more.
Intention edit
I am doing this work as part of a project taking place at Middlebury College and at other institutions across the globe. The primary goal of our edit-a-thon is to ensure a more equitable source of knowledge for everyone who may choose to access Wikipedia. As such a valuable resource, this website deserves to represent a diversity of viewpoints and opinions greater than its current status, with predominantly white male editors.
Goals edit
- To edit at least five different articles to improve their content[2], credibility and equality of viewpoint.
- Identify (and create) a page about a topic that I believe should be a part of Wikipedia.
- Establish myself as an active member of this community of information.
- Gain a better understanding of the mechanisms that govern Wikipedia.
