Allan Israel Frankel, MD was born on January 9, 1951 in New York City. He grew up in Northern California and moved to Los Angeles in 1969 to start UCLA undergraduate while continuing to study Internal Medicine at the same institution.
He started his internal Medicine practice in Santa Monica, CA in 1979. Ultimately, he entered the Medical Cannabis space in late 2006.
His path to becoming a well recognized expert in the field of Cannabis Dosing, was preceded by years of being a Clinical Professor at UCLA for 12 years and private practice Internal Medicine until he melded his Internal Medicine practice into a very similar practice with one exception; The medications used were to be Cannabis.
Over the ensuing years, Dr. Frankel has contributed much to our knowledge of dosing cannabis by the mg.
Currently, Dr Frankel is practicing Cannabis Medicine in Santa Monica, Ca. His work is still full time with direct patient care, with weekly time spent creating new cannabis strains and clinical research.
