My name is Aly Lardenoit, and I am in the Class of 2016 at Rice University. I am a pre-law student majoring in Political Science and History and minoring in Poverty Justice and Human Capabilities. I am interested in hunger and education issues in the United States and the world abroad.
For my first contribution to Wikipedia, I will be adding to the Media portrayal of HIV/AIDS article. I will focus on how different forms of media have effected the HIV/AIDS epidemic in places like the United States, Africa (specifically South Africa), Burma, and possibly China. I want to raise the importance of this article because I think the misconceptions about HIV/AIDS are largely due to media portrayal and I want to research this to see what is actually the case. I have written a more detailed description of my proposed revisions on the article talk page and I would appreciate any and all feedback!
