Bosna Bank International (BBI) is a bank located in Bosnia and Herzegovina and operates in accordance with Islamic financial principles. BBI has been established in 2000 by the Islamic Development Bank (45.46% share), the Dubai Islamic Bank (27.27% share) and the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (27.27% share)[1]. Today, BBI has 31 branches in Bosnia and Herzegovina with headquarters located in the capital city of Sarajevo. It is the first and only bank in Southeastern Europe that applies principles of Islamic banking.The current CEO of the bank is Amer Bukvic. In accordance with its diverse shareholders, the bank operates as both, a commercial and a development oriented bank with the aim to contribute to the reconstruction and economic development of post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina[2].
