Dawit Getachew, born on September 25, 1986, is a prominent Ethiopian gospel artist known for his work as a singer, pianist, producer, and songwriter. He predominantly sings Christian worship music in Amharic. Dawit's career in music began with a strong debut in 2010 with the album "Tebekehalehu" (I Will Wait for You), which exceeded expectations. He wrote and produced all the songs on the album, introducing a new and engaging style to the music industry.
Dawit's talents were further recognized in 2011 when he won the Artist of The Year Award at a gospel music award ceremony in Nairobi, Kenya. Following this, he continued his success by winning in the Gospel category at the 2012 East African Gospel Music Awards.
