Time for Loving (released in Italy as Sapore di mare) is a 1982 Italian comedy film directed by Carlo Vanzina. It obtained a great commercial success and launched a short-living sub-genre of revival-nostalgic comedy films. It also generated a sequel, Sapore di mare 2 - Un anno dopo. For her performance in this film Virna Lisi won a David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress and a Silver Ribbon in the same category.
In 1964 at the resort Forte dei Marmi of Tuscany, a group of young people from a noble family and the lower of classes have the opportunity to have a good time. These include the rich Luca and Felicino which often, authentic Italians, have fun woo tourists and to demonstrate their masculinity in situations where the two masters become victims of fate. But among the companions there are also wild and Marina in search of spirited boys and spicy adventures. The turning of the situations intertwines and intersects in complex and entertaining coils where boys and girls will both love and disappointment, except for a member who wants to feel strong emotions courting a married woman of 40 years. At the end of the holiday, young people lose track of their friendship and come together again in the same place after twenty years. Almost all have changed physically and also according to their tastes, but the feeling of friendship that unites them has always remained strong.
