Theodore E. Long is the former president of Elizabethtown College. Long became president in 1996, and he retired in 2011 [1]. Prior to becoming president of Elizabethtown, Long served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts.[2]
Long is a 1965 graduate of Capital University where he majored in sociology and philosophy. He earned a masters degree in sociology from Duke University in 1968 and doctoral degree in sociology from the University of Virginia in 1979 [3]. He specializes in sociology and philosophy. [4]
