Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Galobtter (pingó mió) 07:38, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

The current color (#FDFD7F) for Template:Independent (United States)/meta/color is extremely bad as it violates MOS:CONTRAST. Thus, it needs to be changed to something like #E8E800. All I did was enter the current hex code in the Google Color Picker and then moved the picker to the right. Here's how my proposed color would appear in the infobox:

Political party color

Party Current Proposed

Party Free Soil Independent

To be historically accurate, it would only make sense to differentiate between the Progressive Party (United States, 1912) and the Progressive Party (United States, 1924–34). While it is entirely possible that the 1924 party had green as its color, and I haven't confirmed that, the "party of Teddy Roosevelt" was identified with the color red. This can easily be found in the bulletins and ephemera of Roosevelt's campaign under the Party. For citations, see here-

  • "Raise Red Bandana as Roosevelt Battle Flag; Near Emblem of Socialism Gives Color to the New-Born Party". Idaho Statesman. Boise, Id. June 24, 1912. p. 4.
  • Stromquist, Shelton (2006). Reinventing 'The People'. Chicago: University of Illinois Press. p. 101. When the Progressive convention opened in Chicago on August 5, 1912, it reminded many observers of a revival...The social reform community organized a 'Jane Addams chorus,' distributed bright red bandanas that became the party's symbol...
  • The American Promise. Vol. II. Boston, New York: Bedford/St. Martin's. 2012. p. 674.

If this edit is confirmed, I would only ask that someone go to the trouble of updating the Progressive Party (United States, 1912) article with these sources to reflect the change. Thank you.

@Simtropolitan: I would need to know what shade of red to use. Perhaps you can use the colour picker and tell me the hexadecimal code? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:28, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@MSGJ: Thanks Martin. I was originally going to give it a simple #ff0000 red since it seems that different different shades were used. But if I had to approximate it to a specific hue, I would say #b63434 should get the job done. Of course I leave this to your discretion. Much appreciated.--Simtropolitan (talk) 17:40, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
This change is made and you should use Progressive (1912) to trigger the red color. Hope this works for you — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:31, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Could an editor with WP:TPE please change the HTML color codes for both the Democratic & Republican parties? My proposed color change for the Democrats' shade of blue is  #00AEF3 , per Democrats.org. My proposed color change for the GOP's shade of red is  #E62D33 , per GOP.com Both color codes were extracted using the 'Inspect' tool in the new Microsoft Edge for Windows 10. Could someone please implement these changes? Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 07:58, 18 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please change the Libertarian color to #E5C601 per their official branding guide. ― Tartan357 Talk 06:45, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@ProcrastinatingReader: Now that I've seen what the change looks like, I think it should be undone. There have been previous proposals to change the Democratic and Republican colors from the bright ones currently in use to the official, more muted shades, which have failed, such as at Template talk:Democratic Party (US)/meta/color. The official LP color is also muted compared to what we were using before, which doesn't look good next to bright red and blue, such as at 2020 United States presidential election#Libertarian Party nomination. It looks like this had also been discussed previously on a talk page that I'd missed: Template talk:Libertarian Party (US)/meta/color. Sorry for the trouble. ― Tartan357 Talk 11:11, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please add the "Birthday" party (for Kanye West 2020 presidential campaign) with the color #791a52 (taken from the campaign logo). Elliot321 (talk | contribs) 19:58, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Lua? edit

Is this template a potential candidate to be converted to a Lua module? WMSR (talk) 22:45, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Seems like it should transclude Module:Political party now. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 07:07, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Indeed it should. We now have 2 parallel lists here and there and this acts just like {{Party color}}. Gonnym (talk) 18:46, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Listed at TfD for this to be using Module:Political party. Gonnym (talk) 13:22, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Party colour change edit

Not sure it this can be done to parties outside of the US (as most of the requests in this talk page are oriented towards American parties), but please change the party colour of Voice – Social Democracy from the current one to #ff3132 as it suits the party's branding and colour scheme much more.   Not done: see discussion at Talk:Voice – Social Democracy#Color; no consensus for this change Elli (talk | contribs) 21:00, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
