Now Commons Dated. Because it adds the timestamp to {{nowcommons}}. Similar naming system for {{nsd}} (No Source Dated), {{nld}} (No License Dated), among others. Rocket000 (talk) 08:57, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Subst

Use {{subst:ncd}} or {{subst:ncd|File:Filename.png}}.

Is this subst really necessary? It just makes usage more complex for most people. Also, links and info in the template can change.

See: Wikipedia:Substitution. Here is the template {{Now commons dated}} in action without substitution:

Can someone please remove the requirement that this template be substituted. I do not know how to fix the problem, so I placed {{editprotected}} in this talk section.

{{Now commons}} may be a better template to use. Is there any reason why 2 templates are needed?

I am trying to simplify moving files to the Commons. See:

I believe this template needs to be substituted in order for the date to become attached as a parameter to the template. If it were transcluded, the date would constantly be changing to the current date. In effect this template is just a wrapper for {{now commons}}. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:30, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

This template is unnecessary and problematic

I think this template is unnecessary. A date serves little purpose. The template name is hard to remember, and substitution just makes it a non-starter for most editors.

{{now commons}} is simple. It is what most people use. See also: Template talk:Not moved to Commons. --Timeshifter (talk) 22:19, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
