Template-protected edit request on 14 November 2015 edit

Please change the following line:

<br />''' To patrollers and administrators''': If this image has an 'appropriate' rationale please append <code><nowiki>|image has rationale=yes</nowiki></code> as a paramater to the license template.

to:

<br />'''To patrollers and administrators''': If this image has an ''appropriate'' rationale please append <code><nowiki>|image has rationale=yes</nowiki></code> as a parameter to the license template.

because: (1) remove unnecessary space before "To patrollers ..."; (2) change single quotes around "appropriate" to italics as a more standard form of emphasis; (3) fix typo, "paramater" → "parameter"; asserted to be non-controversial. Thanks. Wdchk (talk) 20:18, 14 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

This template can be switched to use {{Uploader information}} if a change in the order of the bulleted list is acceptable; I've drafted a new version of the template at Template:Non-free software screenshot/sandbox. Yes, I know I can edit this template myself, but I'd like at least one other person agreeing. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 11:20, 29 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Just because an image is a screenshot of a copyrighted software doesn’t mean that the image is automatically copyrighted. Screenshots of copyrighted software is usually in the public domain or under a free licence.--Alex Mitchell of The Goodies (talk) 04:43, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
