Cambodia To-do:

Let us work in the best reference and presentation of archaeological sites of Cambodia beyond Angkor like Sambor Prei Kuk, Angkor Borei (Takeo), etc.

Should disambiguate Republican Party for Democracy and Renewal and generally try to link up social conscience with right-wing values.

I'm looking for the best picture or any informations about the KAF's U-6 (Beaver). It seem that the KAF had 3 aircrafts. But in 1971, during the viet cong's sapper attack at the Pochentong Air Base,at least 1 Beaver was destroyed. In 1972 at leat 1 Beaver was refurbished with a new engine. http://www.khmerairforce.com/AAK-KAF/AVNK-AAK-KAF/Cambodia-Beaver-KAF.JPG

Thankfull for this info. [Unsigned]

Proposal edit

Proposal to move this template to Template:Needkhmer, which is smaller. Badagnani 07:03, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oppose-this is in line with 30+ other language templates, such as {{Arabic}}, {{Cyrillic}}... Chris 07:10, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry Badagnani, but there is just no good reason to move this. Actually, moving the template does more harm than good: consistency would be broken; and usually, similar templates are better placed on talk pages, not in the article itself. Don't fix it if it isn't broken. :-) It's really a lame thing to fight over, guys. —Anas talk? 10:26, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've attempted a merge of the two templates using m:ParserFunctions to make the displayed version contingent on namespace, so that this can be used in whichever way an editor finds convenient. Feedback welcome... -- Visviva 15:21, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's a pretty neat solution, actually, however, as per Anas, do language requests go in article space or on talk pages? There has to be a guideline on MoS somewhere. Chris 21:15, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ditto. Personally, I don't have that much of a problem with it being placed anywhere, but what is the consensus on that matter? —Anas talk? 22:00, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey Badagnani, Hey Chris - what a kerfuffle over nothing - you two have so much in common it's frightening, 30,000+ edits, +2 years on WP, shitloads of awesome contributions, itchy trigger fingers and short tempers :)

There are many flavours of both the {{needlanguage}} and the {{language}} template already on wikipedia for various languages - I make it 18 or so cats for the Badagdani version and 30 odd for the Chris version (actually created by different editors) so we can't really identify the newcomer to shoot. It's already consistently inconsistent :) Actually both templates put articles under the same main category but at different levels - I like the merged version as a compromise - as long as tagged articles end up in the same place. The important thing is to get more articles tagged and then add the Khmer. I'm planning to fill some of these translation requests - once I finish sorting out Cambodian scouting for Chris and a couple of other things. I've searched and can't find anything in MOS about preferring talk pages or article space. I think it should be on the article page myself like all the other requests - an article without the title in the native language is really not complete. Paxse 16:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

You know, I'm thinking: how about using the same ParserFunctions modification for all the templates? I think I'm OK with that. Any thoughts? —Anas talk? 00:09, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
That sounds cool. Before we cleaned up the mess of categories in the CfD a month ago, some went on front, some on back, so if there is agreement, groovy. Chris 05:24, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Great! Visviva, if you take a look at {{Arabic}}, you will notice that it is more complex than other templates. Is it possible to apply these changes with the template? I think we will need your help there. :) —Anas talk? 13:26, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
{{Arabic}} is a bit of a special case... is there a competing template for that? If not, I'd be inclined to leave it alone. It would be easy to code it so that it displays in article-cleanup style, but not so easy to figure out what to do with the details, especially the images which probably don't belong on the article side. Anyway, if we're going to discuss that template we should probably do so at Template talk:Arabic. -- Visviva 15:46, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Let's do that, then. :) —Anas talk? 14:32, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Great idea - that would solve all the problems at once. Paxse 15:39, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
